Committee Against Child Hunger

C.A.C.H., a local alliance made of individuals, service organizations, churches, and businesses in the White Pine area, provides food bags for over 30 students at DEN weekly.  DEN staff would like to thank this alliance for the wonderful service and blessing their donations are to so many of our students.

Child hunger is an issue all around the world and C.A.C.H. helps feed many of our local children one child at a time in White Pine County.  They not only provide bags to DEN, but to other schools in Ely, Lund, and McGill.  It was estimated that last year, they blessed approximately 150 homes weekly through their Backpack Program.

Students with needs are identified by school staff and discretely given food bags each Thursday to share with their families.  The C.A.C.H. program does not even know the identity of the students.  These "Silent Angels"  truly fulfill a selfless service with their deeds.  Approximately 20-25 individuals work together to gather food supplies that children can fix themselves, are nutritious, and FUN for their families.  They gather the supplies, organize the food, and service organizations help deliver the bags to the schools.

C.A.C.H. acquires funding through a couple of fund raising activities including the upcoming Community Fashion Show and an Annual Spaghetti Dinner & Auction in June.

THANK you C.A.C.H. for this GENEROUS weekly donation made for the children of White Pine County!  David E. Norman and White Pine County School District thank you sincerely for your service!
