Subjects Taught
Fourth Grade

Growing up in Ely, I attended David E. Norman Elementary, White Pine Middle School, Gymnázium Jozefa Lettricha (1 year) and graduated from White Pine High School (3 years).  I obtained my undergraduate Bachelor's of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. Currently, I am furthering my education through numerous Professional Development programs, as well as taking some courses online to further improve my teaching skills.

While pursuing my bachelor's degree, I obtained my substitute teaching license and gained valuable experience substituting K-12 in White Pine, and Washoe County School Districts.  Upon completing my Bachelor's degree, I was fortunate enough to be able to return home to Ely to compete my student teaching with Mrs. Sedlacek in second grade.  At the end of my internship, I was employed, full-time as a licensed teacher in Kindergarten for the remainder of the year.  The positive experience I gained student teaching in second grade was a driving force, to return to second grade the following year when the opportunity presented itself.  After completing a full year in second grade, I was asked to move to first grade, which, again, I welcomed with open arms for this learning experience.  I stayed in first grade an additional year, further improving my craft.  At the end of last year, I was asked to move to fourth grade, where I have never taught before.  I quickly accepted this change and am looking forward to learning about a new grade.  I am ecstatic to be growing and learning with my students as each year passes as I know it is only further helping me to become the best teacher I can become.

My name is Shauna Pintar.  I was born on May 21, 1991 in Elko, Nevada.  I was raised in the small community of Ely, Nevada.  Being raised in Ely, I spent much of my time outdoors with my family and friends.  Through quality daddy daughter bonding time, I developed a love for hunting and fishing at an early age.  Some of my best memories from childhood involve being in the mountains or on a boat with my father and grandfather.

I also enjoy spending time with friends going to the movies, bowling, shopping, or any other fun adventure we can find.  Recently, I got a puppy for my birthday and she really is the light of my life.  I love lazy days when I can spend the day cuddling on the couch with her or just playing a good game of fetch.

To choose just one personal accomplishment which I am most proud of would certainly have to be my decision to become a foreign exchange student.  I spent my junior year of high school studying abroad in Martin, Slovakia.  During this time, I gained a perspective on life that has helped further develop my drive to succeed.  This insight has kept me focused and clearly defined what I need to do in order to achieve the goals I have set for myself.  My participation through Rotary Youth Exchange has made me realize that my future is my responsibility.
