It is time to evaluate how we are doing.  It has been a crazy year, but we have not only survived it but ENJOYED it as we have been lucky to be in school all year.  We are so pleased to service your children.

We know that we can ALWAYS change for the better.  So, we need your input.  Please take this parent survey from Leader In Me.  It will let us know where we can improve for next year.  Take this survey before April 30 at

SLIME the principal as a reward.  We didn't quite make our goal for Kid's Heart Challenge and the students REALLY want to slime the principal.  SO, If we receive 150 parent surveys, students will get to slime me!  EVERYONE may fill out a survey NOT just one per family….Mom, Dad. Grandma, Grandpa, or COMMUNITY MEMBERS.

(Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium) begins after Spring Break
April 13&15 = 5th grade Science testing DONE (good job 5th grade)
April 27&29 = 3rd-5th grade Reading testing
May 4&6 = 3rd-5th grade Math testing
Make-up testing will occur within those dates
We understand that testing can be stressful for everyone, SO we will make the process as FUN and successful as possible with:
1. SNACKS at each SBAC day for our TERRIFIC TESTERS.  The brain must be fed!
2. Students can earn tickets for good participation (NOT FOR GRADES). Each tester can earn as many as 3 tickets per testing activity (including: prep days and testing days). Each ticket goes into a raffle, so the more your student TRIES the more tickets they earn. They earn tickets for: taking their time, being quiet and not distracting their neighbors, using SBAC tools, writing in paragraphs NOT just sentences, etc.
3. Mini raffles will be held at lunch times for smaller prizes every testing day! Panther tails, water bottles, megaphones, and more DEN gear.
4. A final raffle will be conducted after testing for PRIZES students can choose from (see them in the office) Prizes include: a pair of HOVER-SKATES, ear pods, Amazon Fire, Atari, Art Set, Football, Basketball, Karaoke machine, GAMES, and more.  The raffle will be held at a 3rd-5th grade assembly after testing on May 10 at 10:00 in the gym

ADDITIONALLY, 5th grade students will participate in THREE SBAC Prep Fridays on April 16, 23, and 30. These fun filled, learning days from 8:00-11:00 will include test taking strategies, practice with the testing format, and of course FUN. For all 5th graders who participate at all THREE days, their names will be put into a seperate raffle for a BIKE! We are asking our student to put in EXTRA effort, we will put in an EXTRA special reward. The bike is part of our Business Partner's funding from last year's attendance program. THANK YOU BUSINESS PARTNERS FOR SUPPORTING OUR STUDENT ATTENDANCE!

Help your student AIM FOR THE STARS by getting plenty of sleep, a great breakfast and best of all a POSITIVE ATTITUDE while showing their smarts!

April Leader in Me Theme

Integrity really helps us "SHARPEN OUR SAWS" when we practice what we know is right even when no one else is watching!

We love, value, and teach by nurturing the whole child.  We will change the world, one child at a time.

All children will know they are valued and loved, empowering them to become exceptional learners and successful leaders.  They will show consistent improvement on measured assessments ensuring they are grade level prepared to enter middle school by the end of 5th grade.

When children know they are loved and valued, they will learn to love themselves and the world around them. This will give them the intrinsic desire to be the best they can. It will enrich their academic, social and personal lives, creating successful individuals and leaders.
